Recovery from cyber attack that cancelled thousands of hospital appointments to take months, NHS admits
A major cyber attack on King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has led to thousands of cancelled appointments and over 800 planned operations. The attack on pathology services provider Synnovis was believed to have been carried out by Russian cybercriminals. It will reportedly take months for hospitals to fully recover and NHS England has plans to publish weekly data on the attack’s impact.
