Regenstrief and SNOMED announce new LOINC and SNOMED CT interoperability

Regenstrief Institute and SNOMED International are collaborating to create the LOINC Ontology, a system designed to facilitate data exchange between healthcare providers worldwide. LOINC, available in 20 languages and used in nearly 200 countries, uniquely identifies health measurements for data collection and exchange. SNOMED International sets global standards for health terminology. The LOINC Ontology will improve interoperability and support clinical and regulatory requirements by linking these two systems.
