Research by HSJ found that only 12 of the UK’s Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) confirmed they have a plan for maintaining cyber security. 25 admitted to not having a plan, with five not responding. NHSE officials expressed the importance of robust cyber security plans in ICSs to protect patient data. The expected total funding for cyber security in 2024-25 is approximately £17m. Cyber attacks against the NHS have recently increased, raising concerns about local cyber defences.
