Rising ransomware attacks exploit remote access software, warns WatchGuard report

WatchGuard Technologies has reported a serious increase in endpoint ransomware attacks and cyber attackers’ exploitation of remote access software. The report revealed an 89% rise in these attacks, as well as a decrease in malware delivered via encrypted connections. Attackers are also capitalising on password-stealers and info-stealers for credential theft and shifting to other living-off-the-land techniques for endpoint attacks.
