Rite Aid Data Breach – 2.2 Million Customer Personal Data Exposed

Rite Aid, a leading drugstore chain in the US, revealed a data breach in June 2024 that exposed 2.2 million customers’ personal information. Despite claims from ransomware group RansomHub that it accessed 10GB of customer data affecting 45 million individuals, Rite Aid reported a much lower figure. While the breach did not compromise any financial, social security, or health information, it did expose names, addresses, birth dates, and government-issued ID numbers.
