Royal Flying Doctor Service moves to cloud for EMR management

Australian charity the Royal Flying Doctor Service has switched from a paper-based system to a cloud-based EHR system developed by Oracle. The Oracle Autonomous Database allows healthcare staff to digitally record and share patient data in real time. The system also offers safety alerts, patient risk factors and medication dosages, and reduces administrative workloads and data management costs by 20%, the charity said. The system is compatible with every state and territory health infrastructure and is expected to go live in Queensland soon.
