Royal Mail has spent £10 million in remediation costs after LockBit cyber attack

The January 2023 Royal Mail cyber attack has cost International Distributions Services (IDS) £10m ($12.4m) in remediation and bolstering cyber resilience. The expenditure pushed up infrastructure costs by 5.6%, contributing to a 6.5% decrease in revenue. LockBit, which claimed responsibility for the attack that disrupted services countrywide, initially demanded a £66m ransom, later revised to £33m, and leaked 44GB of stolen data.
