Royal Surrey NHS chiefs fear junior doctor strikes could become ‘monthly’
Strikes by junior doctors at Surrey NHS trust may become a monthly occurrence amid a dispute over pay and conditions, warns Royal Surrey CEO, Louise Stead. The ongoing situation is challenging service provision as fewer people are willing to cover gaps. Already three days of industrial action are scheduled for June. Also discussed at the trust’s board meeting were increased numbers of healthcare infections and concerns over breaches of patient confidentiality resulting from a new electronic patient record system.
