Russia covers nuclear bombers with tyres in apparent bid to shield them from Ukraine drones

Russian forces appear to be using car tires to cover bomber aircraft in an attempt to protect them from Ukrainian drone attacks, according to satellite images from Maxar Technologies. The tires were found on two Tu-95 bombers at an airbase near Saratov. Experts suggest this tactic could reduce the aircrafts’ visibility at night and provide another layer of protection against drones. NATO confirmed its awareness of these maneuvers.
