‘Russian cyber attack’ on NHS sparks ‘internal chaos’ amid patient safety concerns

Russian cyber criminal group Qilin is suspected of the ransomware attack that disrupted three major London hospitals. Qilin, which has ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, is threatening to disclose patient data unless a ransom is paid. The company operating the attacked system, Synnovis, has described the situation as “internal chaos”. Qilin has a history of global ransomware attacks, including 29 incidents in 2022 alone.
