Russian cyber criminal gang behind ransomware attack on London hospitals, says expert

Qilin, a Russian group of cybercriminals, is likely behind the recent attack on pathology services in major London hospitals, according to Ciaran Martin, former chief executive of the National Cyber Security Centre. The attack severely disrupted NHS services, and pathology partner Synnovis was hit in what was described as a “major IT incident”. The hackers were likely ignorant of the primary healthcare disruption they would cause, said Martin.
