Russian cyber criminals behind hospital ransomware attack

The Qilin cybercrime group, based in Russia, has been identified as the source of a ransomware attack on London-based pathology firm Synnovis. The ransomware attack has disrupted operations, tests, and blood transfusions in London hospitals such as King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’. The National Cyber Security Centre and NHS officials are currently assessing the impact of the attack and working on restoring services.
