Russian hackers accessed medical data of IAAF athletes in cyberattack
Russian hacking group APT 28, also known as Fancy Bear, compromised the servers of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) on Feb. 21. The breach exposed the Therapeutic Use Exemption forms of athletes, which contained information on whether athletes were allowed to use prescriptions. It is unclear if the information was stolen, but all athletes who applied for TUES since 2012 could potentially be affected. IAAF is working to remedy the situation and ensure the security of athlete information.
