Russian hackers halt 1,100 operations with cyberattack on lab

Russian hackers from the Qilin ransomware group targeted Synnovis, a London pathology lab serving five hospitals and GP services, paralysing its IT system. This resulted in the cancellation of over 1,000 NHS operations and 2,000 appointments. The affected hospitals include King’s College Hospital Trust, Guy’s and St Thomas’, Royal Brompton, Harefield, and Evelina children’s hospital.
