Scammers Spreading Malware under Pretext of Providing Google AI Tools

Google has filed a lawsuit against three people accused of using deceptive ads to trick users into downloading malware under the guise of Bard, Google’s AI chatbot. As the AI tools gain popularity, cybercriminals utilize them to distribute malware that can steal login credentials. The malware ads appeared on Facebook, potentially misleading users as Google has previously advertised Bard on the platform. However, the lawsuit could face challenges, as the alleged fraudsters are based in Vietnam, which is outside US jurisdiction.
