Scots NHS patients’ medical files on dark web after hackers leak stolen data

Hackers named INC Ransom stole a large amount of patient data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway and are threatening to publish it online. Already, some record details have been released on the dark web. The information includes patients’ names, dates of birth, numerical identifiers, addresses, and intimate details about medical histories and disclosures. The Health Secretary has been called upon to explain the breach and what is being done to prevent future ones.
