Security concerns, budget restrictions hamper move to cloud
A survey by Netwrix revealed that almost a third of healthcare organizations store sensitive data in the cloud, with over a quarter experiencing a security breach in the past year. Security concerns, reliability and performance issues, and high costs were cited as top reasons for considering moving data back on premises. However, organizations planning to keep data in the cloud aim to strengthen security by encrypting data and monitoring activities, despite a lack of financial support. The study highlights a general lack of preparedness for security in the healthcare industry.
