The U.S. Senate has passed the Strengthening American Cybersecurity Act, which requires reports of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure and federal civilian agencies. It also aims to modernize the government’s cybersecurity posture and enable federal agencies to adopt cloud-based technologies. The bill will now move to the U.S. House of Representatives for consideration. In a separate development, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) flagged vulnerabilities in medical devices made by Becton, Dickinson (BD), and Logan Health Medical Center in Montana suffered a cyberattack affecting 213,543 individuals.
