Senators debut bill to reduce healthcare cyberattacks

US Senators have introduced the Healthcare Cybersecurity Act aimed at reducing cyberattacks on the healthcare industry. This comes in response to a ransomware attack on health payment platform, Change Healthcare. The bill will push the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the Department of Health and Human Services to improve cybersecurity and make resources available for cyber threat defence. A special liaison will also be created to coordinate during cybersecurity incidents.
