Sensitive records office data accessed in cyber attack on health board

The National Records of Scotland (NRS) has confirmed a cyber attack on the NHS Dumfries and Galloway IT network, where it held records temporarily. The breach affected sensitive data relating to fewer than 50 people. The matter is under criminal investigation and all potential victims have been contacted. The NRS has opened an inquiry mailbox and is urging the public to report any suspicious activity related to the data breach.
