Sepsis digital alert system could save lives says NHS
An improved digital alert system for potential sepsis cases in hospitals could save many lives, the NHS has claimed. The system uses existing patient’s data, such as blood pressure and heart rates, to feed an algorithm that raises an alert if it predicts the development of sepsis, a severe infection that affects more than 30 million people worldwide each year and which could lead to multi-organ failure.
