Several Louisiana hospitals face online tracking lawsuits
Herman Herman & Katz has filed class action lawsuits alleging that Meta Pixel code analyzed and shared sensitive medical data of patients across the LCMC Health Systems and Willis-Knighton Health System networks. The code, owned by Meta (formerly Facebook), tracks and sends organizations’ data to the tech owner, potentially sharing it with marketing partners. The lawsuit claims that patients’ protected health information may have been sent to Facebook when scheduling appointments online. The legal team seeks to stop the practice and have any profits made from selling the data paid to the victims.
