Sharing hospital website user data with 3rd parties is common, study shows

A recent statistical analysis of 90 hospital websites found that their privacy policies were not adequately disclosing the use of third-party tracking technologies. The study included examining the readability of policies, third-party recipients of user data, and user rights. About 75% of the hospitals indicated that user information would be used for advertising and marketing purposes, and half disclosed the names of third-party companies involved. This reveals the common use of online tracking tools in hospitals, despite potential privacy concerns.
