Since Fall of ‘Roe,’ Self-Managed Abortions Have Increased

A rising number of people are attempting to end pregnancies without medical intervention, since the Supreme Court nullified Roe v. Wade, according to a study in JAMA Network Open. Reasons include the cost of travelling to another state, and the stigma of abortion. The study found the percentage using abortion pill mifepristone rose from 6.6 to 11 after abortion rights ended in 2022.
