Singapore’s Minister for Health outlines key responses to COI report’s recommendations
Singapore’s Ministry of Health has appointed a Cybersecurity Advisory Committee to conduct a review of cybersecurity across public healthcare clusters. The minister outlined four key responses to the Committee of Inquiry report on the SingHealth cyberattack, including enhancing governance, implementing a cybersecurity model with multiple lines of defence, improving staff cybersecurity awareness and capacity, and considering a tiered model of internet access to minimise exposure to external threats. The ministry will also pilot a “virtual browser” solution to reduce cybersecurity risks. Mandatory contributions to the National Electronic Health Record system will continue to be deferred for cybersecurity assessments.
