South east London patient data leaked after NHS cyber-attack by Russian criminals

Patients’ personal data from south-east London may have been published online after a ransomware attack on Synnovis, an NHS provider of pathology services, by Russian cybercriminal group Qilin. The attack has led to the cancellation of hundreds of operations and appointments. The exposed data, including patient identities and blood test descriptions, were shared on darknet sites and Telegram, with financial information between Synnovis and healthcare services also released. Investigations are being conducted in response to the situation.
