South east London patient data leaked after Synnovis cyber attack
Synnovis, a pathology service provider primarily in south-east London, was hit by a cyber attack by a Russian group named Qilin on June 3. The attackers reportedly published around 400GB of stolen data, including patient information and financial arrangements, sparking numerous cancellations and postponements of operations and appointments. Urgent and emergency services have continued to operate as usual. An investigation is underway and assistance is being provided to contain the impact.
