South east London patient data leaked after Synnovis cyber attack

UK pathology firm Synnovis was targeted by a cyber attack carried out by Russian group Qilin, leading to hundreds of operations and appointments still being cancelled after two weeks. The hackers published 400GB of data, including patient personal information and financial arrangements, on their darknet site and Telegram channel. The impact is ongoing with over 1,100 planned ops and 2,200 outpatient appointments postponed. Synnovis and the NHS are working together on data analysis and recovery.
