Southport and Ormskirk had no plans ready to tackle a cyber attack
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust’s board did not have a plan outlining what it would do in the event of a cyber security attack, according to papers presented in May. Days later, the trust was one of the worst hit during an attack on the National Health Service. The ransomware onslaught shut down or severely disrupted systems across the UK, with many, including other trusts, asking how such an attack was allowed to occur.
