Staff at Essex care home ‘didn’t wash their hands’ before giving medicine to residents | News
Rawreth Court in Rayleigh, Essex, has been told to make urgent improvements following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) report that found breaches of the Mental Capacity and Health and Social Care Acts. The home, which provides care for 34 older people with dementia and possible additional mental health needs, was particularly criticised for incidents relating to consent, medicines management, dignity and respect. The leadership and governance was described as “inadequate” and concerns were raised about medication mishandling and a lack of effective governance.
