Staff documents stolen in EU Parliament data breach

The European Parliament has experienced a data breach in which sensitive staff documents were stolen. Earlier in the year, its recruitment system, PEOPLE, was hacked, and data including identification documents, work experience and criminal record excerpts were stolen. The Parliament has since begun notifying staff members of the breach, and has deactivated the PEOPLE system as investigations continue.
