Stakeholders Must Be Proactive About Cybersecurity

US Senator Mark Warner has asked 12 healthcare organisations and four federal agencies for feedback on security and resiliency in the healthcare sector, as the industry continues to face severe cyber threats. A scarcity of cyber-hygiene and cybersecurity controls were highlighted in the Verizon 2018 Protected Health Information Data Breach Report. According to the report, the healthcare sector lacks proactive foundational security policies, procedures and technical controls needed to mitigate internal and external threats.
