Startups scramble to assess fallout from Evolve Bank data breach

Evolve Bank and Trust, which represents many fintech start-ups, has experienced a cyberattack and data breach affecting its clients. The bank’s customers’ data have reportedly been posted to the dark web by ransomware gang LockBit. Several firms, including Affirm and Marqeta, have acknowledged the incident, with the latter stating Evolve supports only a small portion of its overall business.
