Statistics reveal healthcare is the sector most affected by personal data breaches

More than 60% of personal data breaches reported to the ICO this year were caused by human error, with healthcare being the most-affected sector, according to figures obtained by Egress. Of the breaches, 43% were the result of incorrect disclosure, while 17% were due to data or wrong data being shown in a client portal. Healthcare was the industry most likely to suffer a personal data breach, with 18% of all breaches reported in the sector.
