Steam Store Spreaded Malware After Hacker Hijacked Developer Accounts

Valve’s Steam platform was exploited by a hacker who spread malware to a small number of users after breaching several game developer accounts. Valve has confirmed the breach and announced a new security requirement requiring developers to register accounts with a phone number for two-factor authentication by October 24, 2023. Some developers have voiced concerns about SMS-based authentication being susceptible to phishing attacks.
