Stolen children’s health records posted online in extortion bid

Hackers demanding a ransom have published sensitive patient data from NHS Dumfries and Galloway, including children’s health records. It follows a targeted cyber attack on the Scottish health board in March. The NHS is advising those affected on how to protect against potential fraud and is working with agencies including Police Scotland and the National Cyber Security Centre to investigate the incident.
