Stolen test data and NHS numbers published by hospital hackers

A ransomware gang known as Qilin has published sensitive patient data stolen from NHS blood testing company Synnovis on the darknet, in one of the UK’s most significant cyberattacks to date. The data includes names, birth dates, and description of tests from multiple London hospitals, disrupting over 3,000 appointments and operations. The attack is believed to have been financially motivated, with cyber security expert Ciaran Martin stating it could be several months before systems are restored.
