Strengthening Cyber Resilience in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia, projected to have a $1 Trillion digital economy by 2030, is facing a significant surge in cyber threats. Cybercrime in the region increased by 82% with a 174% rise in phishing attempts in Singapore alone. Despite the rise in attacks, the region’s cyber resilience is low due to a lack of unified cybersecurity response. While countries like Singapore, Malaysia, have advanced cybersecurity strategies, considerable differences in national cyber readiness and lack of standardised cybersecurity laws complicate the response mechanism.
