Sustainable strategy cuts inappropriate IV use by a third

Researchers at Amsterdam UMC have found a way to cut the unwarranted use of IVs by a third across a period of five years, reducing related infection rates, which impact one in ten patients. The strategy, aimed at decreasing the superfluous use of catheters, adjusted the workflow in four of the five hospitals in the study.
