Synnovis Ransomware Attack Impacts Several London Hospitals

Several London hospitals have been disrupted following a ransomware attack on pathology services provider Synnovis. Services at major hospitals, as well as primary care services in southeast London have been significantly impacted. Some patient appointments have been cancelled and urgent blood transfusions are prioritised. The severity of the Synnovis ransomware attack prompted the authorities to assign it critical incident emergency status. CEO Mark Dollar emphasised efforts to minimise the impact on patients and stated that the incident is a harsh reminder of the ongoing cyber threat to the healthcare sector.
