Targeted analytics help Canadian healthcare groups combat homelessness, boost SDOH
Homelessness in Canada, ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 individuals annually, has become a growing crisis. A project called “Homelessness Counts”, initiated by the Western University Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, is using healthcare administrative data to better understand the problem and its causes. Using a specific algorithm, the project has generated immediate policy insights, including COVID-19 morbidity rates and vaccination coverage among the homeless population.
