Teenagers among 18 people arrested over banking malware scams

Police warned of increasing Android malware scams since January where victims’ devices are compromised and unauthorized transactions are made from their bank accounts. Scammers instruct victims to download Android Package Kit from non-official app stores for purchases, enabling malware installation. They then trick victims to weaken their phone’s security, allowing them to steal banking credentials and conduct illegal transfers.
