Tenable research calculates external attack surface
Research by cybersecurity firm Tenable has found multiple cyber hygiene issues in large Australian organisations, including outdated software and weak encryption. The study found an average of 12,000 internet-facing assets per organisation, equalling more than 290,000 across the whole group examined, all of which are potential targets for exploitation. Tenable warned that businesses must fully understand their digital footprint, regularly update tech, and proactively prevent cyber attacks to maintain their digital infrastructure’s security.
