The UK government is urging schools to utilise free resources to boost student cyber skills and promote careers in the sector. Over 50,000 students have already joined the government’s Cyber Explorers programme, which introduces cybersecurity concepts to 11-14-year-olds. This initiative is part of the government’s strategy to develop talent for the growing cyber-security industry, which faces a skills gap. The cyber sector, estimated to be worth £10.5 billion, has witnessed a 30% rise in job postings but a significant shortfall in the workforce.
