Terminally ill cybersecurity expert pleads guilty to hospital hack
Vikas Singla, ex-chief operating officer of cybersecurity firm Securolytics, has pleaded guilty to hacking two hospitals in Georgia, US, in 2018. Singla interfered with phone and network printer services, stole patient data and taunted the hospitals with printed messages. The cyberattack caused over $817,000 in financial damage. According to his plea deal, Singla will make financial restitution and may face home detention due to his health conditions.
