The badly handled data breaches of 2022
Several companies in 2022, including Nvidia, DoorDash, Samsung, Revolut, NHS supplier Advanced, Twilio, Rackspace, and LastPass, have been criticized for their poor handling of data breaches. The firms were secretive about the incidents, often declining to disclose the nature of the hacks, data stolen, number of customers or employees affected, and details about the responses. These inadequate reactions to breaches are seen as damaging to the companies’ reputations.
