The biggest cyber attacks of 2022
A report by IBM has revealed that the average cost of a data breach has reached an all-time high of $4.5m, with remote working increasing the cost by roughly $1m. Cyber attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure by Russia and retaliatory attacks from Ukraine have caused widespread data breaches. Among other significant breaches were attacks on Costa Rica’s financial operations by Russian cyber gang, Conti, and on major companies such as Nvidia, Ubisoft, Samsung and Microsoft by the Lapsus$ group, and a crypto theft worth $540m by North Korea’s Lazarus Group.
