The differences between open XDR vs. native XDR

Extended detection and response (XDR) platforms, a concept coined by Palo Alto Networks, offer enhanced threat detection, quicker incident response and an improved security posture by gathering and analyzing data from a range of security tools. There are two main deployment options: open XDR, which integrates with third-party security tools, and native XDR, a single-vendor solution. While XDR is often confused with endpoint detection and response (EDR), security information and event management (SIEM) and security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) tools, it has distinct capabilities and use cases.
