The Next Wave of Log4J Attacks Will Be Brutal

The Log4j vulnerability, referred to as Log4Shell, has exposed servers around the world to potential attacks with the first wave dominated by cryptominers. However, analysts are warning to prepare for disruptive ransomware attacks in the next wave. The vulnerability’s severity, simplicity, and ubiquity make Log4Shell “the single biggest, most critical vulnerability ever,” warns Amit Yoran, CEO of cybersecurity firm Tenable. State-sponsored groups from China and Iran have started exploiting this vulnerability to establish footholds in various targets.
