The Positive Impact Of The Voluntary US Cyber Trust Mark On IoMT Devices

The US Federal Communications Commission is developing a voluntary cybersecurity labelling system, called the Cyber Trust Mark. This would give manufacturers of Internet of Things (IoT) devices a certification for compliance with cybersecurity guidelines. The system, aimed at promoting better cybersecurity, should be operational by end-2024 and initially focus on consumer-grade IoT devices. However, the programme will eventually need to cover the Internet of Medical Things, given potential vulnerabilities tied to telehealth services.
